Jones additionally clarified that the gesture was entirely unintentional, happening amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the incorrect digit,” he remarked. “It was accidentally performed. This is sincere. If you want to call it accidental, you can. However, it got corrected rapidly.”

This is not the initial instance an league proprietor has been penalized for misconduct. Previous cases involve:
- Carolina Panthers proprietor Tepper was fined $300,000 for tossing a beverage at spectators in early 2024.
