Approximately 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on the start of the week after intense storm systems swept through the state, generating powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Residents observed giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Victorian Climate Difficulties

State Emergency Services received nearly 600 calls for help across the region, primarily for building damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

During the peak on Sunday, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk expected across different parts of both areas.
Safety Concern
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
